Welcome to Shamrock Highlands Thoroughbreds. We invite you to join us in the exciting and rewarding world of Thoroughbred racing. We have worked to develop a new and different strategy and combination of expertise to assist you the thoroughbred owner that is unlike other opportunities that are currently available.

As we've previously reported, Shamrock Highlands Thoroughbreds took an opportunity with Feasting to diversify our racing assets by moving into the breeding game. Armed with some impressive hypothetical readouts by a pairing with Maximum Security, Feasting was in foal with Maximum Security through an arrangement with Ashford Stud at Coolmore America, arguably North America's premiere stud farm.

After in initial confirmation a few weeks ago, we are now proud to report that Feasting's foal is now confirmed to be a colt! Feasting will continue her stay at War Horse Place in Lexington through the foaling process.

Maximum Security at Coolmore America

While Maximum Security needs no introduction for even those with casual knowledge in the Thoroughbred world, you can see his performances for yourself; the layman can get a sense of Max's feats on his own wikipedia page, while more seasoned Race Horse enthusiasts can see his impressive detailed statistics on his Equibase profile.

Our filly comes from a proud line of her own (you can find out more on her page), and we're excited to see what these two lineages will create as Shamrock Highlands Thoroughbreds grows in an exciting new direction in our very first year of partnership. Speaking of growing, did you hear we've already PLACED in our first Stakes race? You can check out Perfect Silent Cat for more on that story. But if you've followed us from the start and missed out on getting in early on the Cat, we have more exciting news on the way, and it's STILL not too late to get in on the ground floor of our exciting venture with Feasting BEFORE she births what could be our most exciting opportunity to date!

What's new with Shamrock Highlands Thoroughbreds as the summer is upon us? Two new opportunities, to start! Managing Partner and Founder Jeff Callan talks with Web Admin and Media Manager Joe Callan about the growing partnership, recent showing by Perfect Silent Cat at a Maiden Special Weight, Feasting's breeding with Maximum Security, and more.

Forgive our audio! While our first interview was done on site, this was done via an internet call. While the quality is spot-on for most of our 25 minutes, there are a couple seconds where things have a bit of digital shuffle.

From Jeff Callan, Managing Partner:

Shamrock Highlands is now offering shares of Feasting, our filly in Foal to Maximum Security. Max is a top property as a winner of over 14 Million dollars and 10 of 14 lifetime races. For investors that want to own for future value (and to potentially own a future "Super Horse") this is a great ground floor investment.

For those who want more of a defined period of time at a lower initial cost, a lease option may be right for them. I believe that with the pedigree, confirmation, fluid gate and maternal line of Feasting, the cross with the Maximum Security is a great opportunity to invest the time into raising a foal. As with any other race horse investment, there are always risks in the breeding outcome, but in this case they do not outweigh the future upside potential. Purchasing a yearling of this caliber with the right confirmation and build could cost well into the 6 figure range.

A proven mare with successful offspring means that future foals that have the right build will even be valued higher. The other benefit is that our partners always have the opportunity to sell their interest when they choose. We will support them and market this for them. This really sets us apart, as many partnerships don't offer this option, especially with the versatility of the leasing term. We recognize our investors all have different strategies, and no one can predict the future. As the value changes our partners have flexibility in their options.

Attention Investors: We are currently looking for private horses for sale, and planning on attending upcoming sales in May and June. We're tracking several potential young claimers of interest.

We have confirmed interest from some current partners, and are looking for others to "join our family" on these future ground-floor opportunities. Give us a call or e-mail (see our contact page here) and we can discuss potential opportunities with you to see how our plans might fit with your objectives. Looking forward to talking with you!

A decision was recently made to send the 3YO well-bred filly "Feasting" to Kentucky to be bred to champion and first-year stallion Maximum Security. Maximum Security is a winner of 10 races in 14 starts with earnings of over $14 million.  "Feasting started behind the rest of the 3YOs and with a minor setback putting her back an additional season, it was actually Barry who suggested we should send her to the breeding shed," Managing Director Jeff Callan said. "When comparing notes, we had several in mind but decided on 'Maximum Security'."

Feasting is a well put together, well-bred filly with a very fluid gate. She is out of a Mare that has produced GOURMET DINNER ($1,191,230) and 4 others with earnings of more than $150,000. Her second Dam has 2 foals that were producers of MUSICAL ROMANCE ($1,681,885), PATTERNRECOGNITION ($1,012,325) and others with earnings of more than $400,000. The same extended maternal line also produced BATTLE OF MIDWAY ($1,589,049.)

Moving forward in the breeding direction is a move for economic efficiency. "Instead of sacrificing this season, it made sense to move forward in this direction," Callan added. "This is an opportunity for us to turn a decent racing stake into a breeding stake with winning potential, especially with a high-caliber horse like Maximum Security." The Shamrock Highlands filly will be bred at the Versailles, KY location of world-famous Coolmore, Ashford Stud. Feasting will be under world-class care afterward, residing at War Horse Place in Lexington KY.
