Bill (Leonard) Storms

After high school I started to get into quarter horses. I went into the military so all of my horses went on pasture rest. In 1972 I was back on the farm with the horses and purchased a D Bar colt, which later was my stallion for future breeding.

In 1973 my father passed away, leaving 32 appaloosa horses for my mother to deal with. That was a lot of horses at that time, and I had to handle and break them so my mother could sell the majority of them.
Around 1990, I sold off my quarter horses and with my wife, started a covered wagon tour business with draft horses. I organized the tours with two covered wagons, taking my riders to the top of the hills on my own land for a view of the valley, and then through the nearby scenic Pennsylvania state forest. I also did surrey rides for weddings and rides in town on the weekends.

In 2015, due to health reasons, we decided to downsize. We sold the livestock and farm and moved to Frankfort Kentucky, where we now live. Several years later I found a part time job on a nearby horse farm where I was able to be back with horses, thoroughbreds, in the bluegrass.
