2 New Colts for Shamrock Highlands !

Shamrock Highlands Thoroughbreds announces the arrival of 2 colts this year. The long-awaited Foal of multiple turf winner Grandma’s Rules by Oxbow and the Tale of Ekati foal out of Feasting. 2 Colts both healthy and growing. Turbo the Oxbow colt is exceptional and definitely exceeds our expectations. Jeff Callan Managing director said This colt is what everyone hopes for! Very correct, long legs, muscular and well balanced and very intelligent. This colt shows the head shape and legs of His Grand-sire Tiz-now and that’s not a disappointment. The colt proved his intelligence when at 6 weeks old he decided he could lift the metal gates up off the hinges and go down the lane and visit the yearling fillies. He didn’t stop at one gate but lifted both at opposite ends of the pasture says Callan. He was found at feeding time very relaxed and visiting the girls. The other colt Buddy was born 2 1/2 weeks premature but was strong and determined and got up without issue after a difficult birth. He was a bit small, as you would expect at that stage, but not as much as you would expect Callan said. This colt like the Oxbow colt feels good and is healthy and growing well He has a slight offset in the left knee but carries it through well when walking and moving. It continues to look better as he grows, and we will keep a sharp eye on this and take appropriate measures to balance this out. See pictures soon on our weanling’s section of these 2 promising colts!
